OUR COVID-19 RESPONSE
Following the announcement for dental services in England to be begin returning from the 8th June, the team at Spalding Dental Services have been hard at work to ensure that the dental lab is compliant with the new social distancing rules and the regulatory requirements to enable us to manufacture custom made dental appliances after the Coronavirus lockdown.

Our dental laboratory is a member of the Dental Laboratories Association (DLA), and we have been strongly advised to only accept disinfected impressions from dental practices, with the impression securely bagged and labeled ‘Disinfected’. Given the current risks we will be working in line with the requests from the DLA, therefore we will not be able to work on any impressions or appliances that have been in a patient’s mouth that hasn’t been disinfected before being sent to the lab.

At the start of May, the DLA launched their #SaveLabs campaign, the message of which was for dental practices to promote that they use a British dental lab to their patients. We know that for many months to come patients are going to be potentially overwhelmed with news and information about Coronavirus infection rates, how the virus can be transferred, and the impact the virus has, so we believe that this is a great time for us to work together and share with your patients the peace of mind they can experience because you are working with us, a British dental lab.

It would really help with our planning in the dental lab if you could share with us your intended ‘phasing in’ plan, the number of patients that you envisage being able to see per day and, where possible, an indication of what level of lab work you would expect to send in compared to your previous ‘norms’.
Everyone at Spalding Dental Services couldn’t be happier to be heading back to the bench and are ready to work with your team to provide dental appliances once again!

We hope that all of the team are well and keeping safe.
